1:500 Scale White Stylised Model of Proposed School
This project was one of a set of four models built to illustrate the design concepts for a group of proposed new schools. The general white styling was enhanced by incorporating splashes of colour on some of the internal features of the design (as can be seen if you click on the image to view a close up) as well as internal illumination.
1:1250 Masterplan Model
Commissioned by the Welsh Assembly Government through an exhaustive tendering process, this model’s role was to illustrate the new infrastructure and planning proposals for a major new development area in the docks and coastal fringes of Llanelli, South Wales. The model showed new road links, new residential areas, and commercial development areas. It also used button activated fibre optic lighting to highlight six different development zones.
Perspex Commemorative Plaque
This laser cut and engraved Perspex plaque was designed and made in the space of a few days. It was used as part of a PR photo opportunity at a “Topping Out” ceremony for a new international swimming pool. It was made from 10mm thick Perspex and fixed to a slate grey back board.
1:20 Sectional Model of House
Commissioned as a teaching aid, this cut away model was designed to illustrate typical construction techniques in a standard domestic building. The client’s aim was that the model could be used instead of site visits to clarify some fairly basic methods of construction. The model included details such as wall ties, staircase construction, and even roofing materials.
1:200 Apartment Block
An addition to a large existing model, this apartment building represented the sixth and final phase of a project that has been gradually updated over several years. The new phase building was completed as a free standing unit before the main model was brought to our workshops. This meant it could be incorporated very quickly and the updated model returned to the marketing suite within a few days.
