Detailed marketing model on complex sloping site.

This technically demanding project was one of several marketing models we have made recently for national house builder Taylor Wimpey. It was a particularly difficult project because it comprised over 150 units on a steeply sloping site. Many of the houses were split level properties and each plot required accurate modelling of retaining walls, complex access steps, and carefully designed embankments in the gardens. Even though 1:250 is a fairly small scale, if you click on the first image to enlarge it you’ll see the high level of detail we have been able to achieve. The second image shows the model on site in their marketing suite.

Recycling Centre Model – Scale 1:250

We’ve just delivered this model illustrating the newly extended and refurbished premises for an
industrial recycling company. Although models of industrial premises aren’t particularly exciting
to look at, the addition of some landscaping detail and lorries in the company’s authentic livery
brings this model to life. The client was really pleased with the finished result and the model
is now in a meeting area where staff and clients can see how the new extended facilities will look
when all the building work is complete.

Plasma Power Station Model – Scale 1:250

The brief for this project was to create a stylized representation of this power station building that could be packed into a travel case and taken as hand luggage on international flights. This meant the overall dimensions of the case had to be no bigger than 560 x 450 x 240mm. The only way this was possible was to make the model in two halves that stacked back to back inside the foam-lined case. The chimney stacks were too tall to fit so we designed them to be unscrewed and packed flat during transit.

College Redevelopment – Scale 1:250

At 1:250 scale this large full colour, detailed model was used to illustrate the redevelopment proposals for a Devon college site. The landform had to be very accurately to illustrate the changing levels, complex steps and embankments across the site.

1:1250 Masterplan Model

Commissioned by the Welsh Assembly Government through an exhaustive tendering process, this model’s role was to illustrate the new infrastructure and planning proposals for a major new development area in the docks and coastal fringes of Llanelli, South Wales. The model showed new road links, new residential areas, and commercial development areas. It also used button activated fibre optic lighting to highlight six different development zones.
